Port Jervis, NY (February 12, 2019) – A serious pedestrian accident caused by a drunk driver was reported to have happened at around 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening, February 11, according to authorities. Police have stated that the accident happened on Culvert Street in the town of Port Jervis.
According to authorities who arrived at the scene, 36-year-old Brian Bohm, of Huguenot, had been driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee while intoxicated along the aforementioned road when he struck an unidentified pedestrian. The collision prompted a response from emergency medical crews who attended to the victim, identified only as a 20-year-old woman.
The injured woman was then flown Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla to be treated for head and facial injuries. According to authorities, the woman was released from the hospital the next day. Bohm was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated and was reported to have had a 13-year-old girl in the Jeep with him at the time of the incident.
