Peru, NY (February 9, 2019) – Police reported that a man from Peru was involved in a car accident when another vehicle when he failed to stop at a stop sign at an intersection. The accident caused the driver who went through the stop sign to be arrested for failing to pay child support.
The accident happened on Wednesday when 48-year-old Christopher Picozzi was driving his 2009 Toyota east at the intersection of Mannix Road and Clark Road. He failed to stop at a stop sign when there was low visibility due to snowy conditions.
When Picozzi entered into the intersection without stopping, he was struck on the passenger’s side by a Chevrolet Colorado, operated by 66-year-old Bryan Frary. Injuries were reported in the accident, though police did not specify if they were minor or severe.
Picozzi was ticketed for failing to stop at a stop sign, unreasonable speed, and unlicensed operation. He was also arrested on a family court warrant.
