Rochester, NY (February 8, 2019) – Early Friday morning, February 8, police responded to an incident in which a driver had struck a vehicle and the side of a bar before crashing into a second vehicle. The accident took place at around 1:30 a.m. on Lyell Avenue, according to authorities.
The incident was reported to have started in the parking lot of Smokin’ Joe’s Bar and Grill where the driver of a vehicle first struck a parked car and then bumped into the building. After hitting the bar, the vehicle continued out of the parking lot and smashed into another vehicle on Lyell Avenue.
Police were at the scene shortly after the accident along with paramedics who transported both the driver and a passenger from the second vehicle to a local hospital. The conditions of those victims are unknown at this time but authorities stated that they are expected to be okay. There was no word as to whether or not the 19-year-old driver who caused the accident suffered any injuries.
Police are actively working to determine if alcohol was involved in the incident that is currently under investigation.
