Staten Island, NY (February 5, 2019) – A 63-year-old man was reported to have suffered critical injuries after he was struck by a truck while riding a motorized scooter along Forest Avenue in the Graniteville section of Staten Island. The accident happened at around 10:06 a.m. on Monday morning, February 4, according to authorities.
Police stated that the crash took place while the man was riding the scooter along the aforementioned road at Trantor Place. The victim was reported to have been hit by 2017 10-wheel truck for reasons that have not been confirmed.
Emergency medical crews were dispatched to the scene where they transported the man to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton. The victim is currently expected to recover from his injuries which include two broken legs, according to police. The truck driver was stated to have remained at the scene following the accident and no charges have been filed at this time.
