Mooers, NY (February 4, 2019) – Police responded to a call concerning a two-vehicle collision that occurred on State Route 11 in the town of Mooers on Saturday, February 2. The fatal crash was stated to have taken place in the afternoon hours on the aforementioned day for reasons that have yet to be confirmed.
According to an investigation conducted by state police, 75-year-old Hilda L. Phair, of Phair, had been traveling westbound along Route 11 in a 2002 Buick Century when she lost control of the vehicle and veered into the eastbound lane. Phair subsequently collided head-on with 54-year-old Teresa A. Dickson, of St. Albans, VT, who had been traveling in a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox.
Emergency medical crews were immediately dispatched to the scene along with police. Both Phair and Dickson were transported to the University of Vermont Health Network at Champlain Valley Physician’s Hospital. Phair was tragically pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
One passenger in Phair’s vehicle, identified as 46-year-old Brian S. Phair, of Mooers, was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Likewise, Dickson’s passengers, two 6-year-olds identified as Piper A. Ewen and Payden O. White, both of Barre, VT, were also evaluated at the hospital. Dickson suffered chest pain along with a broken ankle, according to authorities.
