Cayuga County, NY (February 3, 2019) – In Cayuga County, a woman received serious injuries in a car accident involving a snowplow that took place this past Tuesday morning.
The driver of the vehicle has since been identified as 58-year-old DeAnna Taylor. She had been traveling west on Route 20 when she lost control of her vehicle and entered into the other lane where she collided head-on with the snowplow.
Taylor was trapped inside the wreckage of her vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders. She was then airlifted to the Upstate University Medical Center with lower body injuries that were serious in nature. The driver of the snowplow suffered a back injury but police do not believe that he received medical attention.
State troopers closed down the roadway between Lime Kiln Road and Basswood Road for several hours. At this time, the investigation into the matter continues.
Every day, a total of 48 people will receive injuries and be hospitalized due to New York car accidents.
