Webb, NY – Stony Man Point Killed in Fatal Snowmobile Accident

Webb, NY (February 3, 2019) – On Friday, February 1, a Stony Point man was killed in a fatal snowmobile accident that took place on Snowmobile Trail C7. The victim has since been identified by police as 56-year-old Frank Prendergast.

Prendergast was traveling north on his snowmobile at the time when he was involved in an accident and became stuck in the snow. He entered back onto the trail to find help.

A second snowmobiler saw him just in time to swerve out of the way and avoid hitting him. A third rider, however, attempted to take evasive action but was unsuccessful. Prendergast was struck by the snowmobiler at high speeds.

The riders immediately stopped and called 911. Unfortunately, when medical personnel arrived at the scene, Prendergast was pronounced deceased.

Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
