Webb, NY (January 14, 2019) – Late Sunday afternoon, January 13, emergency responders were called to the scene where an elderly man was reported to have been involved in a snowmobile crash. Officers accompanied medicals to the crash site after the accident that was reported to have occurred at around 4:15 p.m. in the town of Webb, located in the Adirondack mountains.
According to police, 72-year-old Larry DeMarte had crashed into a ravine after losing control of the vehicle he was operating due to possibly high speeds or mechanical problems. Officers at the scene stated that DeMarte had become trapped underneath the snowmobile in a creek as a result of the accident.
Other people who were with DeMarte at the time were reported to have retrieved him from the wreck and attempted CPR to no avail. The events that led to this accident have not been confirmed as police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
