Sunset Park, Brooklyn, NY (January 14, 2019) – A hit-and-run driver is responsible for leaving a man lying in the street with critical injuries Monday morning, January 14. The seriously injurious pedestrian accident was reported to have taken place a little before 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of Third Avenue and 51st Street in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn.
Following the collision, police were called to the scene where they found the victim, identified as Fernando Trejo, 27, lying in the street. Emergency medical crews were dispatched to the accident site where they transported Trejo to Lutheran Medical Center to be treated for injuries that have been considered critical at this time.
According to authorities, Trejo is expected to survive as police are actively searching for the suspected vehicle involved as part of their investigation into the incident.
