Mexico, NY (January 14, 2019) – A devastating two-vehicle collision between a car and a tractor-trailer was reported to have tragically claimed the life of a 9-year-old girl on Sunday afternoon, January 13. The fatal accident happened at the intersection of Route 11 and Route 104 at around 12:18 p.m., according to police.

Authorities stated that the victim, identified as 9-year-old Cara Snyder, of Lacona, had been traveling along with the driver of a car, 29-year-old Samantha Phillips, of Central Square, when they approached the aforementioned intersection. According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Phillips collided with a tractor-trailer operated by 65-year-old Lawrence Wallace, of Cato, for reasons that have not been determined.
