Buffalo, NY (January 14, 2019) – An early morning motor vehicle accident involving a Buffalo Police patrol car took place on Saturday, January 12, and resulted in at least minor injuries. According to authorities, a call came in reporting the accident at the intersection of Mills Street and Sycamore Street at around 6:20 a.m.
Police stated that an officer had been responding to a call when another vehicle struck the patrol car for reasons that have not been released at this time. Emergency medical crews were immediately dispatched to the scene where they transported the male officer involved to Erie County Medical Center. The other driver was stated to have declined medical attention.
The condition of the injured officer has not been made available as police are actively conducting an investigation into the events that led to this incident. According to officials, charges have been filed against the other driver involved but no further information has been released.
