Hamlin, NY (January 11, 2019) – The identity of the individual who tragically lost their life in a house fire on Walker Lake Ontario Road Thursday, January 10, has now been released by authorities. 63-year-old Richard Haberger sadly died in a fire that was reported to have broken out at around 2:00 a.m. at the home in which one other person had occupied at the time.

According to police, Haberger had been at home with one other person who had woke up due to the smoke. The surviving individual ran out of the burning house and immediately called 911 in order to report the incident. Firefighters along with police and paramedics quickly arrived at the scene.

Unfortunately, the two-story farmhouse had already been engulfed in flames by the time that responders arrived and Haberger was pronounced dead shortly after firefighters arrived. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and no further information has been made available.
