Merrick, NY (January 9, 2019) – Police stated that five teenagers were sent to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday evening, January 8. The crash took place at around 5:00 p.m. on Merrick Road, in the vicinity of Frankel Boulevard.
The crash was reported to have taken place when a vehicle crashed along the aforementioned roadway for reasons that are currently unknown. According to police, the vehicle involved was a Ford Mustang that ultimately slammed into a utility pole, prompting responses from both police and emergency medical professionals.
Responders at the scene were able to confirm that all five teens who had been inside the vehicle at the time had suffered various injuries. The exact extent of their wounds has not been reported, however, officials stated that injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
Police are actively investigating the events that led to this incident.
