Mill Basin, Brooklyn, NY (January 7, 2019) – On Sunday night, January 6, police, emergency medical crews, and firefighters responded to a call concerning a two-car crash in the Mill Basin section of Brooklyn. The call regarding the injurious collision came in at around 10:00 p.m. as dispatchers promptly sent officials to the scene.
According to authorities, the collision took place on an elevated section of the highway over the Mill Basin, also known as a Belt Parkway overpass. Firefighters from the Ladder Company 170 arrived at the scene to assist the injured victims of the crash, although it was not stated as to whether or not anyone required extrication.
Firefighters had to cross over the roadway to help the victims of the crash, and there has been no word pertaining to the extent of injuries suffered in the crash. Emergency medical crews verified that at least one person suffered injuries, however, there has been no information pertaining to the number of people involved the crash. Tragically, this is the same accident that one member of the Ladder Company 170 lost his life after falling from the overpass.
Police are actively investigating the cause of the collision at this time.
