Manhattan, NY (January 5, 2019) – In Manhattan, a train accident occurred when a man was stuck on the tracks. Miraculously, he survived the accident and merely sustained injuries.
The accident took place on Friday, January 4, around 10:38 p.m. at West 181st and St. Nicholas Street. The man ended up on the tracks for reasons that are not yet known. A witness said that one person jumped onto the tracks to save him.
However, the train started to approach, which is when the person ran from the scene. Another witness told the man to lay flat on the tracks and he did. The train passed over him completely.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and were able to extricate the man from under the tracks. He was assessed by paramedics and taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries but is expected to recover.
Police continue their investigation of the accident at this time.
