Brentwood, NY (January 6, 2019) – Last night, January 5, one person was struck and killed in a train accident that occurred in Brentwood. Originally, it was believed that the person suffered injuries, but they have been tragically pronounced deceased due to the trauma they sustained.
The accident took place around 8:30 p.m. just west of Brentwood and a Long Island Rail Road train struck the pedestrian, who was only identified as a man.
An investigation into the matter took place, which caused service to be suspended in both directions for quite some time between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma. Service has since been restored after the investigation.
The investigation into the accident continues and police are still working on identifying the victim at this time.
