Farmingdale, NY (January 1, 2019) – Authorities are actively involved in an investigation into an incident in which a person was struck by a train in Farmingdale. The accident took place early Tuesday morning, January 1, at around 12:30 a.m., a little west of the Long Island Rail Road station.
At this time, the events that led to the person being on the tracks is unclear. Police were only able to verify that an unidentified person was struck by a train for unknown reasons. Emergency medical professionals whoundoubtedly arrived at the scene did not confirm the condition of the victim.
Services on the Ronkonkoma branch had to be suspended for a short time as police began their investigation. The investigation into this incident continues at this time.
No further information has been released by authorities.
