Mount Vernon, NY (December 30, 2018) – Police continue their investigation into a fatal accident that took place in Mount Vernon when a driver’s vehicle fell over an overpass, causing it to fall down 25 feet.
The driver turned into oncoming traffic around 3 p.m. yesterday, December 29 and somehow missed pedestrians on the sidewalk. The vehicle was involved in an accident and then caused the driver’s vehicle to plunge 25 feet, causing his death.
The blue Toyota allegedly slammed into Metro North train station property. First responders arrived at the scene and had to cut the victim out of his vehicle, but they claimed that it was too late.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time but police have said that, luckily, no other parties were injured. Police continue their investigation of the accident.
