Manhattan, NY (December 29, 2018) – This morning, a fiery car crash took place on Lower Manhattan’s west side that led to serious results. One person lost their life in the accident.
Police said that the accident was caused by a reckless, speeding driver and took place on Vesey Street about a block away from the World Trade Center. Around 7:20 a.m., a 37-year-old man who had been veering in and out of traffic clipped a Honda.
The Honda was sent flying, overturning and catching on fire. The female driver inside was killed at the scene of the accident. Her name has not been released.
The speeding driver then struck two other vehicles as well, a pickup truck and a sedan. It then flew into two parked vehicles before it came to a stop.
The reckless driver jumped out of the vehicle and tried to run off but was stopped by police a distance away from the scene. Charges are now pending and the investigation continues at this time.
