North Babylon, NY (December 22, 2018) – A driver on Long Island has been arrested following a fatal pedestrian accident that claimed the life of a man on Friday night, December 21, in North Babylon. The accident was reported to have taken place at around 8:30 p.m., according to authorities.
Police stated that Eddy St. Louis, 41, had been driving a 2015 Mercedes along Deer Park Avenue when he struck the pedestrian. 46-year-old Anthony Cappa had been walking down the roadway when St. Louis’ vehicle struck him, resulting in fatal injuries.
Emergency medical professionals who arrived on the scene along with police tragically pronounced Cappa dead shortly after transporting him to a hospital. St. Louis has been arrested for driving while ability impaired by alcohol, and was scheduled for an arraignment on Saturday.
