Saugerties, NY (December 14, 2018) – A crash that occurred for reasons that are currently under investigation seriously injured a couple from Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon, December 12. The crash took place at around 3:10 p.m. on Glasco Turnpike in Ulster County.
According to police in Saugerties, 68-year-old Thomas Spennato and his wife, 56-year-old Kitty Spennato were traveling east in a 2015 Honda CRV when the vehicle went off the roadway. The vehicle crashed in a wooded area off Glasco Turnpike and resulted in severe injuries to both occupants.
Police along with Diaz Ambulance paramedics and the Centerville Fire Department were called to the scene where both victims were immediately air-lifted to Albany Medical Center. Thomas and Kitty Spennato’sinjuries have been classified as critical at this time.
Police have stated that the events that led to this crash are unknown and that the incident remains under investigation. No further information has been provided.
