New Dorp, NY (December 10, 2018) – A two-car collision took place Saturday afternoon, December 8, in New Dorp that subsequently sent two people to the hospital with at least minor injuries, according to a spokesman for the city Fire Department. The collision was reported to have taken place at around 12:15 p.m. at the intersection of Hylan Boulevard and Ebbitts Street.
According to authorities, one of the vehicles involved was stated to be a blue Volkswagen Jetta that suffered serious front-end damage, although there was no word on the other vehicle or how the accident occurred. The airbags within both vehicles were deployed, according to the spokesman.
Emergency medical crews were called to the scene in order to render aid to the victims who were ultimately transported to Staten IslandUniversity Hospital in Ocean Breeze. The injuries sustained by the victims had been considered minor and non-life-threatening at this time.
No further information has been provided regarding the events that led to this accident or those involved. An active investigation is likely ongoing.
