West Brighton, NY (December 3, 2018) – Early Sunday morning, December 3, authorities responded to a fire that broke out in an apartment building in West Brighton. The fire was reported to have started at around 3:30 a.m. on the fifth floor of an eight-story apartment building located at 810 Henderson Avenue.

Firefighters who responded to the scene reported being able to contain the flames by 4:10 a.m., according to a spokesman. No firefighters were stated to have been hurt in the fire, although one occupant of the apartment building sustained injuries that have been classified as minor at this time.

The flames were reported to have broken out in apartment 5E, according to authorities, and it is currently unclear as to which resident suffered injuries. No further information has been made available concerning the identity of the victim or the events that led to the fire.

Investigators are actively looking into the cause of the fire at this time.
