Brentwood, NY (December 3, 2018) – Sunday morning, December 2, emergency crews responded to a house fire that ultimately sent one person to the hospital and injured several firefighters. The blaze was reported to have started at around 10:00 a.m. at a home on Hewes Street.
Authorities responded to the fire as firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene shortly after the flames broke out at the private residence. According to the assistant fire chief, one person was immediately transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries that have been reported as minor.
Furthermore, a total of seven firefighters suffered injuries while battling the large fire. According to authorities from the Red Cross, 14 people from three different families were affected by the incident.
At this time, authorities have not stated the current conditions of any of those who suffered injuries in the fire. No further details have been provided as the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
