Commack, NY (December 1, 2018) – In Commack last night, November 30, a 16-year-old exchange student was seriously injured in an accident when he was crossing the street.

The 16-year-old was identified as a boy from China who is staying in the United States for studies. He may have been crossing Kings Park Road around 7:20 p.m.

The driver was identified as 69-year-old George Geevarghese, who had been driving a 2003 Jaguar at the time near Elder Drive. The teenager was quickly taken to the hospital in stable condition with a variety of serious injuries. The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with police and did not have injuries.

The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
