Newburgh, NY (November 28, 2018) – According to police in the city of Newburgh, a fatal hit-and-run accident was reported to have occurred on Wednesday morning, November 28. The deadly pedestrian accident took place on Robinson Avenue at an unspecified time, however, investigators were stated to have been at the scene as of 10:30 a.m.
The tragic incident happened on the aforementioned avenue, in the vicinity of Newburgh Free Academy’s north campus. Police and paramedics responded to the location, which is a little south of the intersection with Marne Avenue, to assist the victim and assess the scene of the collision.
Unfortunately, the unidentified victim was pronounced dead due to the extent of their injuries, however, there was no mention of whether or not they passed away at the scene or at a nearby hospital. In any event, the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim was reported to have fled the area immediately after the accident.
No further details have been provided as police are actively investigating the events that led to this incident.
