Town of Glen, NY (November 27, 2018) – A crash that occurred on Tuesday morning, November 27, in the town of Glen has tragically resulted in the death of a State Trooper, according to police. Trooper Jeremy VanNostrand was reported to have become involved in the fatal collision at approximately 7:45 a.m.
Police stated that Trooper VanNostrand had been attempting to turn into the Fonda station on Route 5S when he was rear-ended by an unspecified vehicle. The impact of that collision subsequently forced Trooper VanNostrand’s vehicle into oncoming traffic.
Emergency medical responders quickly rushed the severely injured victim to Albany Medical Center, however, he sadly succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Police are likely to be continuing an investigation into this unfortunate accident.
Trooper VanNostrand began his duties as a member of State Police in December of 2012 and continued to serve the force for six years. His latest assignment was serving as a Trooper at SP Fonda.
