Sodus, NY (November 27, 2018) – Monday evening, November 26, police responded to a hit-and-run accident that sadly left a 15-year-old girl with serious injuries. Authorities stated that the incident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Aling Drive and State Street in Sodus.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the young girl had been attempting to cross the road at the intersection when she was struck. Deputies who responded to the scene stated that the male driver who hit the girl stopped momentarily to speak to the victim through his window, and then fled the scene as the injured teen was on the ground.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and immediately transported the victim to Strong Memorial Hospital with multiple injuries. The victim, whose identity has not been released, is currently listed in guarded condition.
Investigators reported that the suspect was driving a gray pickup truck as authorities continue to analyze the events that led to this incident.
We would first like to offer our sincere sympathies to the young girl who was injured during this accident as we warmly wish her a full recovery at this time. Unfortunately, pedestrian accidents in New York frequently prove to be catastrophically injurious or even fatal. While it can be difficult for parents or other loved ones, it is terribly important to understand that you may have rights following an injury to a child, particularly one that has been caused by the blatant recklessness of another party.
At Hach & Rose, we know that there is hardly anything more difficult than dealing with the sudden unexpected injury of a child, especially when the party who caused the accident exhibited such extreme negligence on their behalf. If you or a loved one has suffered serious injuries in a New York pedestrian accident, please don’t hesitate to call 212-779-0057 today.
