Binghamton, NY (November 27, 2018) – The man who was tragically struck and killed by a motor vehicle Friday night, November 23, has now been identified as 58-year-old Robert Lowe, of Binghamton, according to local police. The accident that sadly claimed Lowe’s life was reported to have occurred at around 9:00 p.m. on Upper Front Street in Chenango.
New York State Police were dispatched to the incident that happened near the Sonic restaurant on the aforementioned road. According to authorities, emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the accident site after Lowe was struck by a car while attempting to cross the street.
Emergency crews immediately transported Lowe to Wilson Hospital with critical injuries. Unfortunately, Lowe was later pronounced dead on Sunday, November 25. The driver of the vehicle who struck Lowe was reported to have remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No charges have been filed at this time.
