Chesterfield, NY (November 24, 2018) – A man from Keeseville received multiple injuries when he was involved in a bicycle accident that took place in Chesterfield on Front Street. The incident happened around 7:59 p.m.
At the time, 21-year-old David Gabriel was riding north on Front Street when he collided with a 2018 Ford Escape being driven by 78-year-old Geraldine Finney. At the time, the vehicle had been traveling southeast and attempted to make a left turn onto Clinton Street.
Gabriel didn’t yield the right-of-way, causing him to strike the front bumper of the vehicle. He flew up onto the windshield and caused it to break, coming to a rest on Clinton Street.
At the time, he was not wearing a protective helmet and did not have lights on the bicycle. Gabriel was immediately taken to the hospital with a fractured femur, fractured vertebrae, and a fractured rib.
