Norwood, Bronx, NY (November 20, 2018) – Firefighters responded to the site of a four-alarm fire that affected three buildings in the Norwood section of the Bronx on Tuesday afternoon, November 20. The fire was reported to have broken out at a three-story structure on Hull Avenue at approximately 2:00 p.m. which rapidly spread to the neighboring buildings.
Authorities stated that over 140 FDNY firefighters arrived on the scene to battle the raging flames. The fire was seen exploding through windows and causing thick smoke to billow from the structures.
Emergency medical personnel confirmed that at least one person suffered injuries during the blaze, however, there has been no mention as to the condition of that victim. The Red Cross assisted displaced residents at the scene.
No further information concerning the cause of the fire or the number of people injured has been provided at this time. Authorities are currently conducting an ongoing investigation.
