Melville, NY (November 20, 2018) – A serious personal injury accident was reported to have occurred in Melville, Monday evening, November 19, when a male pedestrian was struck by an SUV. The incident was stated to have taken place at around 5:00 p.m. on Route 110, north of Amityville Road.
Authorities reported that the man was struck by an SUV after he stepped onto Route 110. The 87-year-old driver who struck the victim was reported to have remained at the scene following the incident and is not facing any charges at this time.
The injured man was immediately airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. The exact extent of the victims’ condition has not been released, and neither of the parties involved has been identified.
