Pittsford, NY (November 19, 2018) – Monday morning, November 19, police responded to a call concerning an RTS bus crash that resulted in the hospitalization of one passenger. According to local officials, the bus had been carrying one passenger when it crashed at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Garnsey Road, in the vicinity of Route 96.
Deputies stated that the injurious accident took place when the driver of an RTS bus lost control of the vehicle for unclear reasons and went off the roadway. The bus, which was reported to have contained only the driver and one passenger, crashed into trees at the aforementioned location, according to authorities.
Emergency medical crews were promptly dispatched to the scene along with police to assist the victim and assess the damages. The wounded passenger was immediately taken to Strong Memorial Hospital after sustaining minor injuries in the crash. RTS was reported to have been attending to a small gas leak following the incident.
No further details have been provided at this time as police are currently investigating the accident.
