Bronx, NY (November 19, 2018) – The devastating crash that claimed the life of mom-to-be, Jennifer Parisella on the Major Deegan Expressway Saturday morning, November 17, also critically injured a 14-year-old girl who was in the vehicle. The tragic collision also caused injuries to Parisella’s 28-year-old brother, as well as a 12-year-old boy in the backseat. New information concerning the extent of the young girls’ injuries and the identities of all three injured parties has now been released.

The van that Parisella was operating crashed into the rear-end of a tractor-trailer near Exit 1 on the expressway, subsequently resulting in the death of Parisella and the injuries of her passengers.
The 14-year-old girl who suffered critical injuries has been identified as Sky Mendoza, and police have sadly reported that she is currently in a coma fighting for her life. Authorities have stated that the 14-year-old, Sky may lose her ability to walk following recovery from her injuries, in the event that she survives.
The other child who was in the back seat and suffered a broken collarbone has been identified as Sky’s 12-year-old brother, Orlando Mendoza. Parisella’s brother, identified as 28-year-old Michael, suffered a leg injury in the crash.
Before anything else, we would like to offer our sincerest condolences and most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the loved ones of Jennifer Parisella.
