Plattsburgh, NY (November 18, 2018) – A two-car accident took place on Route 3 this past week, which sent one party to the hospital with a variety of injuries.
59-year-old Laura Mitchell, who was injured in the accident, was a passenger in a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 71-year-old Richard Michell. The accident happened when a 2005 Saturn, which was driven by 25-year-old Zachary Stanford, attempted to turn east and stalled. He was making it nearly impossible for anybody to clear the intersection.
This was when Mitchell, driving west, collided with the Jeep. Laura was immediately taken to the hospital with chest pains and other injuries.
Stanford was ticketed for failing to yield the right-of-way. Police continue to investigate at this time.
