Patchogue, NY (November 18, 2018) – In Patchogue, a car accident led to DWI charges when a Shirley man was involved in a serious accident on Saturday night, November 17.
Police have identified the driver who received charges as Michael Samartino, who collided with a Chevy Tahoe on the Sunrise Highway.
The truck had been hauling a trailer, which detached and slammed into a ditch. Samartino and a passenger were taken to the hospital. Police confirmed that the two of them are expected to recover from their injuries.
At this time, police continue to investigate the accident.
