Bronx, NY (November 18, 2018) – Police continue their investigation into a fatal Expressway accident that took place on the Major Deegan Expressway Saturday morning, November 17. The woman who lost her life has since been identified.
At the time, 30-year-old Jennifer Parisella of Middletown was driving a van. She had a 28-year-old brother, 14-year-old girl, and 12-year-old boy as passengers in the vehicle at the time.
The van that the four were in slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer on the southbound side of Exit 1. Parisella’s family claimed that she was also five months pregnant. Parisella was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The passengers were all taken to the hospital with various injuries but they are expected to be okay.
The 42-year-old driving the tractor-trailer remained at the scene of the accident. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. At this time, there have been no charges.
Police continue to investigate the accident.
