Patchogue, NY (November 15, 2018) – On Wednesday night, November 14, police were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident that tragically resulted in the death of one man in Patchogue. The incident that is considered to be a chain-reaction crash was reported to have happened at approximately 9:00 p.m. on North Ocean Avenue.
The driver of a Cadillac was reported to have crossed over the center line of the roadway, subsequently triggering the deadly accident, according to police. After veering into oncoming traffic, the driver struck a guardrail and side-swiped two other vehicles before colliding head-on with a Ford Explorer.
The Explorer was then forced to crash into another vehicle because of the impact of the collision. The 54-year-old man who was driving the Cadillac and caused the accident was immediately transported to a nearby hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries. An unstated number of parties involved in the crash were reported to have sustained minor injuries in the crash.
No more information has been provided at this time as police are likely continuing their investigation into the incident.
