Geddes, NY (November 15, 2018) – A serious crash was reported to the Onondaga County 911 dispatch center Wednesday night, November 14, according to police. The accident was stated to have taken place at around 10:50 p.m. on Interstate 690 near Exit 7 to the New York State Fairgrounds.
According to scanner reports, one of two vehicles had been traveling in the wrong direction on the interstate with its lights off before colliding with an oncoming car. Dispatchers stated that at least three ambulances were sent to the scene of the crash, however, the number of injuries and parties involved has not been made available.
Scanner reports also stated that the I-690 westbound at North Geddes Street had been shut down as well as the on-ramps at West Street and Hiawatha Boulevard. The large collision was reported to have resulted in tremendous damage to the front-ends of both vehicles involved.
No further information has been provided in regards to the individuals involved in this accident. Police are actively continuing an investigation at this time.
