Hicksville, NY (November 14, 2018) – According to police, a man has been critically injured after being hit by a motor vehicle on Tuesday night, November 14, in Hicksville. The incident was reported by authorities to have occurred at an intersection around 7:15 p.m.
Police were immediately dispatched to the scene of the collision that happened while the victim was attempting to cross South Broadway at West Marie Street. Emergency medical crews were also called to the accident site in order to render aid to the seriously injured pedestrian.
The driver of the vehicle was reported to have remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities as no charges have been filed at this time. The victim of the collision was promptly transported to a local hospital where the unidentified 61-year-old man has been listed in critical condition.
There has been no further information provided in regards to the victim or the cause of this incident. Police are actively investigating the events that led to the accident.
