Farmingdale, NY (November 13, 2018) – An early morning crash resulted in the death of one individual and the injuries of another on the Northern State Parkway in Farmingdale, according to authorities. The deadly accident was stated to have taken place at around 6:43 a.m. on Tuesday morning, November 13.
According to police, 48-year-old Victor H. Alvarez, of Bethpage, was driving a vehicle with his passenger, 23-year-old Iris Y. Rodriguez, also of Bethpage, in the eastbound lanes of the parkway. Whether due to Alvarez’s condition, a mechanical problem with the vehicle, or another reason currently unknown, the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree east of Exit 38.
Police and emergency crews were called to the scene where Alvarez was sadly pronounced deceased and Rodriguez was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The exact cause of the crash is unknown at this time as police are currently investigating.
