Forest Hills, Queens, NY (November 12, 2018) – On Sunday night, November 11, police said that a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a man in front of at least six witnesses. The fatal accident took place at around 5:30 p.m. while the victim was attempting to cross Continental Avenue in the Forest Hills section of Queens.
The victim who has been identified as 29-year-old Niklas Ahern, of Tribeca, was struck by a motorist who did not stop to offer assistance or cooperate with authorities. According to witnesses, the driver of the vehicle never even hit the brakes before recklessly crashing into Ahern.
Police and paramedics were immediately called to the scene to assist Ahern who was transported to the hospital where he was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. At this time, police are actively looking for the suspected vehicle which was said to be a grey or silver sedan that may also be missing a passenger-side mirror.
