Lawrence, NY (November 11, 2018) – The Homicide Squad in Lawrence is taking a closer look at a fatal pedestrian accident that took one life on Thursday, November 8. The accident took place around 1:48 p.m.
At the time, a 34-year-old male pedestrian was struck while he was walking on Central Avenue by a Freightliner traveling north on the Expressway. The driver was identified as a 37-year-old man, but his name has not yet been released.
The pedestrian started crossing the Nassau Expressway from west to east when he was struck by the truck coming through the area. At this time, he has been identified as 34-year-old Naftali Rhodes.
Rhodes was quickly taken to the hospital with serious bodily trauma and was pronounced dead while there. At this time, the investigation into the matter continues.
