Piercefield, NY (November 9, 2018) – According to St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies, one person has been reported to have died of injuries the man sustained during a motor vehicle accident. The crash was reported at around 3:00 a.m. Friday morning, November 9, on Route 3 in Piercefield, according to authorities.
Deputies stated that crash happened when a pickup truck became involved in a collision while heading westbound on Route 3. The young male driver of that pickup truck was tragically killed in the crash, and while deputies have identified him, no names will be released until loved ones can be notified.
The victim was reported to be lying very close to the vehicle when responders arrived, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Upon their arrival, firefighters found the deceased victims’ vehicle burning, and the victim ejected, although authorities are unsure as to whether or not the victim escaped the fire was thrown from the truck.
At least one other vehicle is believed to have been involved in the accident, however, that information has not been verified. In any event, it is currently unclear as to if the crash was caused by another party or faulty mechanics. Police are currently investigating the incident.
