West Side, Manhattan, NY (November 5, 2018) – A pedestrian accident was reported involving a bus that resulted in the death of one person on Saturday night, November 3. The victim was confirmed to a 73-year-old pedestrian who was hit and subsequently killed in the accident that took place at around 10:00 p.m.
According to authorities, the fatal accident was reported to have occurred at the intersection of 34th Street and 10th Avenue when the bus struck the victim for currently unknown reasons. The bus was stated to have been empty at the time of the incident.
Police said that the driver of the bus left the scene of the accident, claiming that they did not know they had struck someone. Paramedics were immediately on the scene shortly after the collision in order to render aid to the victim, however, the elderly pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
No one else was injured in this accident and investigators have not yet released the name of the victim pending notification of loved ones.
