Canadice, NY (November 6, 2018) – Local deputies have reported on a woman from Rochester who sustained serious injuries after crashing her vehicle into a horse on Tuesday, November 6. The accident was stated to have occurred on County Road 37 in the vicinity of Holmes Road in Canadice at an unspecified time.
According to authorities, 28-year-old Laura Reidy had been traveling on County Road 37 when a horse crossed her path and subsequently caused her to crash into the animal. The impact of the collision Reidy to sustain head and neck injuries and sadly caused the death of the horse, as well.
Police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene where they immediately transported Reid a local hospital. The victims’ injuries are considered serious, although she is expected to make a full recovery at this time.
Police have yet to provide an answer as to who owned the horse and how it ended up in the roadway, but an investigation into the incident is likely ongoing.
