Huntington, NY (November 4, 2018) – An 8-year-old child is in serious condition following a pedestrian crash that happened last night, November 3, on New York Avenue. Suffolk County Police investigated the incident.
The child was first taken to the Huntington Hospital and then hospitalized at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Queens. Her condition was described as critical.
She had been struck when a 1997 Ford van came barreling through the area. The driver was identified as Pedro Guerrero. Guerrero had been heading south on New York Avenue and was not injured. He stayed at the scene to speak with police.
Police temporarily closed down the Avenue in both directions to continue their investigation.
