Midtown, Manhattan, NY (November 2, 2018) – One person has been hospitalized in critical condition following a pedestrian accident with a vehicle that took place on Thursday morning, November 1. The incident was reported to have occurred in the early morning hours at around 5:00 a.m., according to authorities.
Police stated that the pedestrian was walking along 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue at the aforementioned time when a vehicle struck them for unknown reasons. Emergency medical professionals, as well as the police, were immediately called to the scene to assist the victim and evaluate the site.
The severely injured pedestrian was promptly transported to a local hospital where they were listed in critical condition. According to police, the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the authorities. A video captured the image of a yellow taxi with a cracked windshield following the incident.
No further information has been made available as police are likely going through an investigation at this time.
