Bay Shore, NY (November 2, 2018) – Authorities reported an accident Thursday night, November 1, that seriously injured an 80-year-old pedestrian. The accident was reported to authorities shortly after it took place around 9:30 p.m. on Union Boulevard.
According to police, the victim, identified as Jorge Carlos-Moisa was attempting to cross Union Boulevard between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue at the time of the accident. An unspecified vehicle had been traveling on Union Boulevard when it struck Carlos-Moisa for reasons that are currently unknown.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene and immediately rushed Carlos-Moisa to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. The current condition of the patient has been listed as critical.
The driver of the vehicle involved was reported to have remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities. No charges have been filed at this time.
Police are likely looking into the events that caused this accident.
