West Babylon, NY (November 1, 2018) – A motor vehicle accident took place as a car slammed into a 7-11 in West Babylon Wednesday afternoon, October 31. According to police, two people were injured in the collision that was reported to have occurred at around 3:15 p.m.
West Babylon police stated that the crash happened at a 7-11 on Straight Path when an 87-year-old female driver lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons. The motorist slammed into a 7-11 and subsequently pinned a customer who was inside the store at the time, to the cash register counter.
Police were called to the scene along with emergency crews in order to assist any victims. Upon their arrival, responders found both the customer and one employee injured at the crash site. Those two victims were immediately transported to a local hospital with injuries that were considered non-life-threatening.
There was no word as to whether or not the elderly driver was injured as no further information has been made available at this time. Police are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
